Hello,
I am Mrs. Reeves and I teach Kindergarten at Maxfield Elementary. I grew up outside of Gorman in a family with six children and have four of my own. I have always loved children and feel privileged that I am able to work with young children.
The goals that I have in teaching kindergarten are to teach upper and lower case alphabet recognition, how to write them and the sounds that are associated with the letters. Then I want the students to learn how to put the sounds together and make words; READ. I also want the students to learn number recognition and how many things the numbers represent. After the students learn this, the goal is to teach adding and subtracting. Throughout the year there is a great emphasis on social skills; listening, minding, sharing, being kind to one another, following rules, etc., with the purpose of grafting values into the children's daily behavior.
