This year in second grade we will have a central theme of Taking Care of Business. Simply put, school is your child's job. We want to have fun, but while we are having fun we will be working hard on learning.

In second grade we concentrate heavily on character education. Your child will be participating in team building exercises about once a week (occasionally more or less). These exercises are fun and your child will probably come home talking about them. We learn alot about how we deal with other people in our team (or class).

Your child will have homework Monday through Thursday. I try to keep that to a reading assignment and a math assignment. Sometimes there may be more but I will try to keep it to reading and math.
Your child will bring home a responsibility portfolio every monday. Please be sure to sign that folder and return it with your child the following day.
