  Mr. John Howard

Dear Parent/Guardian,
It is the intent of the Gorman Schools' Music Department to assist your child in the development of their musical abilities. Music development in student has been proven to enhance that student's learning capacity in all other subjects, as well developing within the student leadership skills and teamwork. In addition, statistics show that students who compete musically on average are able to score much higher on college entry exams such as the ACT and the SAT. This fact often increases the value of scholarships that will be available to your child upon graduation from High School. In order to for your child to make the most of his/her music education it is necessary that each student practice a minimum of 2 and 1/2 hours per week. Please advise us of any concerns that you might have concerning your child's music education.
Sincerely,
John Howard, Jr.
